Halloween

On Halloween, when the yellow moon shines,
On display there are pumpkins with orange rinds,
You see bats in the moonlight, high in the sky,
You hear wild screeches that seem to cry.
In the dark shadows lurks a ghost,
Past the fence, post after post ......
Beyond the creaky gate, in the haunted house,
Among the silent shelves, where you can even hear a mouse ......
In the mysterious bottle of smelly potion,
Out leaps a black cat!

  1. We have sound, sight, smell. Maybe we could use some taste and feel. How about adding 'bitter soup' and 'fluffy ghost'?

  2. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your poem. It reminds me of my son's favourite book The Berenstain Bears and the Spooky Old Tree. I'll read it to him tonight I bet he'll love it.
